I know everyone says it, but I mean it when I say that life around our house is crazy. C-R-A-Z-Y. I'm staying at home, taking some time off from school, while we plan the wedding & I finally get my head around being a grown-up, and I've re-realized that this house is ridiculously insane. There is a crisis nearly daily. Between the 4 of us there are about 800 things that need to be coordinated at any given moment. And you know what? It happens. Somehow, everything seems to get done. It may not be pretty, but it gets done.
This is why I love my family. The world can completely come to an end & the fabric of the universe be threatening to rip apart at the seams, but we get through it. We haven't all lived together under one roof in several years, and we aren't the best at communicating with one another all the time, but we know each other better than anyone else on earth. And we help each other in just the ways that we need.
I pray that this new family that Nathan & I are preparing to start can one day be as loving & supportive as the one I grew up in. Maybe we can find a way to skip some of the drama though! ;-) You think? Wish us luck?

Easter
First of all, I would like everyone to take notice that I'm merely a week late on this one! I decided to interrupt the previously scheduled catch-up programming with an up-to-date post. Here are some pictures of Nathan & me on Easter Sunday. (For the record, I still think it sounds better to say "me & Nathan" but I guess that just means I'm self-centered, huh?)
There were several pictures & only a few turned out anywhere close to decent. Either I had 25 chins or Nathan's eyes were closed or the wind had blown my hair into my face, etc. Here are the "fit to share" ones!
Our photographer (aka. Daddy) told us to "interact" to get some candid shots, I presume. It's pretty difficult to interact on command! We made an attempt & at least it came through how happy we are together, right? (Remind me never to take profile shots ever again please!)
This was our favorite of the bunch. I can't really think of much to say about the photo itself, so I'll just throw in an anecdote for good measure! During Sacrament Meeting (yes, I know, we should've been listening), Nathan mentioned that he'd worn this particular tie on purpose to match the dress I was planning to wear. You can't tell here, but he did a great job! Clearly, this combined with the beautiful weather & Easter spirit meant that we should take some pictures together. I feel a tradition coming on...
Now, here's a candid shot. Nathan watching as I do work! Just kidding!! I actually can't think of a time when he failed to offer me help. In fact, even in this instance he retrieved the paper towel with which I wiped the mud off my shoes. He's a keeper! Also, here you can see my dress better (though still not well, admittedly) & appreciate Nathan's tie choice.
Here's Electra's Easter picture! She was thoroughly enjoying that straw let me tell you. Please take a moment to visit my first post of Electra. Can you believe how much she's grown?! Also, her eyes are not really that creepy shade of yellow. They're a marvellous green color with flecks of copper. Not sure why they came out like this! I tried to fix them with the magical "red-eye remover," but alas, it turns out that just works by adding some green to counterbalance the red & in the absence of red it just turns things grass green.
If you're wondering about the rest of the family, we didn't actually have a full-on Easter celebration since Ma was under the weather. We're planning to have a shindig this weekend to celebrate her birthday & I'm sure there will be pictures in abundance. I'll do my best to share them in a timely fashion! Ta ta for now!

Something for your Google Reader
I was in Atlanta this past weekend & didn't get a chance to post yesterday, lo siento! But I came across this collection of websites & I fell in love and had to share. Even if you don't live in an apartment, we all can use space-saving, eco-friendly, time-efficient solutions so enjoy!
apartmenttherapy.com is the main website & there are links at the top & bottom to other, more focused blogs about homes with kids, the kitchen, home technology, and going green. I vaguely remember hearing about this website before, but I never visited it. I wish I had before I decorated my apartment! Check it out!

Photo Catch-Up #1: Savannah in December
As promised, a brand new blog post! Though I have to admit to taking the easy way out a little bit. I have a bunch of pictures that I meant to put up here a while ago, so that'll be the next few posts. Then back to regularly scheduled programming, I promise!
I went to Statesboro to visit Nathan a few days after Christmas & we went to Savannah for the day with his family. We went to Fort Pulaski & Tybee Island. It was fantastic! All the pictures are from Nathan's phone, by the way...I'm constantly impressed.
The views from the second level of the fort were amazing! The weather was perfect & you could see forever. Poor Nathan saw a lot of the back of my head!
A very nice couple saw us trying to take a picture of ourselves & took pity. Aren't we cute? Also pictured is my late water bottle that Daddy gave me for Christmas. It was with me for a few short days before I left it at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta. Tragic!
Fort Pulaski is famous for being the fort where we learned that rifled cannons can destroy masonry forts. Apparently, Union troops blew a huge hole in the side of it & changed the way we built forts back then. Now we just use rebar! I made fun of Nathan for this picture because it looks like the cannon is shooting the flag. He denies framing it this way on purpose. Either way, the cannon's plastic, so no one's going to get hurt!
I like this picture. There's not much to say about it...moving on!
After the fort, we went to Tybee Island & played on the beach. I was on the beach in December! Nathan stepped on sand burs on the way from the car; he felt better when he totally outran me! I don't even remember why I was chasing him...oh well! The water was pretty freezing cold, but we all had fun.
Now for my favorite picture of all! Nathan, knowing how much I love swings, took me to a playground after supper. It will go down in history as one of the best nights in the history of the world! Yes, that good. :-) I enjoyed the merry-go-round a bit more than Nathan, but he played photographer. I can't believe it turned out as good as it did!
So that concludes part one of Becca's photo catch-up. I think there are at least two more installments, so stay tuned!

I'm Back!
Ok, not quite yet, but stay tuned! I genuinely thought I would have time for this AND school AND a boy AND two church callings AND friends...need I continue? ;-) However, it's proven to be the case that I do not in fact have time to do everything. Shocker! Anyway, I've set a few new goals for myself & included in them is time set aside to babble away to anyone who'll listen (read?). So dust off those bookmarks & try desperately to remember your dear friend Becca who promises to update her blog weekly! Hopefully...
